5th November ’16 – Scirrocco Build in Progress
Construction of this large (10ft 6″ or 3.2m) tender is now underway.
Designed to take more crew over longer distances under oar, sail or power, this hard chine strongly built tender or day sailor is well suited to towing or permanently resting on the beach ready to launch.
Plans available soon.
7th July ’16 – Bounty Plans Now Available
Following a number of enquiries requesting plans for Bounty, I have now prepared a detailed set of drawings. To build Bounty you can either purchase a set of plans or buy a kit of plywood parts. Mylar templates are also available to supplement the plans and speed up the marking out process. Click here for more info.
28th June ’16 – Mylar Templates
Mylar templates are now available for each design. The components for which templates are available vary for each design, but as a minimum there are templates for all frames, transom and stem.
4th June ’16 – Beale Park Boat Show
A big thank you to all of you who took the time to visit my stand this year and compliment me on the design and craftsmanship of the tender Bounty, shown here on display. Your generous feedback was appreciated and I thoroughly enjoyed discussing your requirements for contemporary boat designs.
Thanks also to my good friend Cliff who supported me over the 3 days, but a very special thank you go to those of you who bought plans! I look forward to seeing photos of your boats under construction and once completed on the water.
10th May – Bounty Sea Trials
With an improvement in the weather and accompanied by friends Barry & Vaughan in their kayaks, we carried out further sea trials with Bounty. This time on the tidal river Medway with a 13 mile row from Allington lock to Chatham historic dockyard.
I had a dry comfortable row for about 5 hours giving me the chance to get to know Bounty properly. With plenty of leg room and a light hull rowing was easy, dry and safe. Good stability and plenty of space meant that I carried all the food and kit for my friends, it’s hard to keep things dry in a kayak!
14th April ’16 – “Pic-Nic” Design Complete
Pic-Nic is a tough 16ft day boat with a good strong construction and a clean stylish appearance. There is plenty of stowage space for food & drink, boat gear and fishing nets. Pic-Nic is well suited for cruising your favourite stretch of sheltered water.
An outboard is hidden beneath the lifebuoy on the aft deck, making engine installation simple, economic and pleasing to the eye. Plans for Pic-Nic are now available and if required I can also supply full size Mylar templates for the frames.
